Date | Name | Please comment on this particular camp site |
30/10/2024 | ANGELA | Camp 1 is water front on Big Lake. Camp sites are tidy and very spacious and well maintained. Chairs and table were provided, fire pits were clean and firewood was easily found on the ground. Nice shady area to relax and enjoy. The pontoon on Big Lake provided the kids with endless fun on their paddleboard and a to cool down. |
05/10/2024 | Dan | We absolutely loved this site. Very spacious, secluded and well set up for all camping abilities. |
03/08/2024 | Victoria | Love this site. Easy set up for the camper trailer, lots of shady space and great access to the water. |
22/04/2024 | Katrina | Camp one is large but has private camp spots for large families but also perfect for a couple. Quite and serene beside the big lake. Lots of bird life. |
15/11/2023 | Simon | The camp site was tidy of rubbish and right next to the dam which was lovely. Easy access for us and the kayaks to enter the water and the drop toilet was a bonus. |
30/10/2023 | anonymous | Great near water |
22/07/2023 | Kristy | Very large private site that could accommodate a large number of campers. Easy access to the dam so getting kayaks in was a breeze. Beautiful sunrise from this site. |
14/07/2023 | Sally | Private setting, lakeside, not great for swimming from the edge as too many water lillies, but excellent for paddle boards and kayaks. Great for bird watching. |
29/05/2023 | John | Perfectly situated with water views and very private. |
20/03/2023 | Tammy Garner | The site was great that we were right next to the big lake so gave us some great views. Very private and easy to find which was fantastic. Toilet was close enough to the campsite but also far enough away that we weren’;t sleeping next to it. Had a few different flat areas to set up our tents but also had a large area that management offered to mow if we needed the extra grounds if our group was larger. Was only a 5mins drive to the day use creek to have a fresh swim and the water was crystal clear. |
02/08/2022 | Mark | Good views of the lake |
20/04/2022 | Naomi | This camp site is fantastic for large groups. We had a group of 12 and there was ample space for us to setup multiple tents and a large communal kitchen/dining area. |
04/10/2021 | anonymous | We really enjoyed camp 1, was very private and suited our group with young children very well. The site had a good amount of flat land for our 3 families to set up camp with a larger area where we could place the communal area. |
23/08/2021 | anonymous | Feeling remote – awesome |
29/06/2021 | anonymous | It was a lovely site, very private but it would have been better if the grass area where you site your camper be cut, as it was tall and seedy. [OUR COMMENT: apologies, it usually is, caretaker fell sick] |
22/11/2020 | Brenton | 5 stars for everything, the dam was really close but our site was just far enough away to be private, the setting out was great, the temperature was very warm as to be expected for the area but the breeze helped with that and we brought our own extra shade. |
22/09/2020 | John | Good view of the lake |
08/08/2020 | John | Completely private. Great outlook. |
25/06/2020 | Bryce Purden | Site was clean, quiet and close to the lake. Parking trailers could be an issue but we had no trouble. Not a lot spots of flat ground but it was better than we expected. |
15/07/2019 | Tammie | Overall we loved the proximity to the large lake which we all spend hours kayaking on and it felt to a large extent like having a private lake to ourselves for most of the time. Having a long drop loo in camp was very handy. The only negative was that the campsite looked across at the day visitors area, which detracted a little from what is otherwise a complete wilderness vibe. Good cleared areas that handled our party of two families, well spaced apart. |
04/06/2019 | anonymous | Very private site, felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. A tranquil setting with beautiful lakeside camping. Plenty of different sites to choose from within site 1 each with a slightly different aspect and feel. Great to be able to have a fire and a massive bonus to be able to use some wood from the property. |
30/09/2018 | anonymous | Its privacy and cleanliness. Beautiful water lilies |
24/07/2018 | Stephanie | 5 star, So private, Beautiful dam |
24/06/2018 | anonymous | Very private, quiet, clean, lovely setting, and felt as though we were camping in a remote area even though civilisation was not far away. |
